• Colbert Bump: Of the most literal kind: Sean appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to do an abbreviated Hot Ones with Stephen.
  • In some cases, guests that aren't as well-known will get a bit of a spike outside their usual fanbases thanks to appearing on Hot Ones. In particular, many comments on the Desus and Mero episode are about how that episode introduced them to their work and created a lot of new fans.
• He Also Did: Sean does other segments for the First We Feast YouTube channel, most notably Sean in the Wild, which finds Sean learning about food from special guests around the country and the world (and yes, many of them involve eating spicy foods, including wings).
  • Parent company Complex also had Sean appearing in smaller promotional bits for other series and films. Notably, a promo challenge for the Jesse Eisenberg film American Ultra saw Sean attempt to run a convenience store while stoned out of his mind.
• Missing Episode:
  • A few episodes (such as Kumail Nanjiani's, Chrissy Teigen's, and Jeff Goldblum's) were temporarily taken off YouTube and could only be found on the Complex website in 2019-20. Sean explained in a Q&A that for the duration of the Hot Ones TV game show, which were followed by classic Hot Ones episodes, the latter could only be shown on TV. He did assure viewers, however, that they would eventually return when the season's run was completed, and they did.
  • The Mario Batali episode from season 4 has been taken offline in light of the sexual assault allegations against Batali.
• So My Kids Can Watch: Among others, Gordon Ramsay and Matt Damon were urged to do the show by their children.
