Trivia / Hoppity Hooper

Go To

  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Hoppity's voice, Chris Allen, is female.
  • The Other Darrin: In the first two episodes (recorded years before the show got picked up), Fillmore was voiced by Alan Reed, best known for voicing Fred Flintstone. By the time the show finally got greenlit in 1964 Reed was unavailable, so Bill Scott took over the role for all the remaining episodes.
  • Title Theme Tune: The show's main theme tune is called "Fight Fiercely, Young Teddy!"
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Originally Hoppity Hooper's name was going to be Hippity Hopper, but was quickly changed since the name was already associated with the Looney Tunes character of the same name. Jay Ward then decided on The Green Hopper, before ending up picking Hoppity Hooper
    • Like all Jay Ward productions this show was going to have more than one original segment, in the case of Hoppity, they had planned a sort of sequel series to Fractured Fairy Tales called Clobbered Classics, which would've lampooned classic literature, but was cut by there sponsor General Mills for being too sophisticated for a kid audience. So instead repeat segments from the Rocky Show were used to fill out time, in between two Hoppity cartoons such as the aforementioned Fractured Fairy Tales, Aesop and Son, Mr. Know it All and Peabody's Improbable History.
