  • Channel Hop: Not once, but twice. The original 1970 series aired on Fuji TV, but the franchise hopped to NET for the 1974 sequel and then to Nippon TV for the 1989 remake.
  • Creator Killer: While the 2010 film remake didn't kill Tatsunoko Production, as they remained active despite the film bombing hard at the Japanese box office, it did kill Group TAC, as a month after release, they would liquidate all of their assets and shut their doors for good one month later. As the result, this became the final work that Group TAC had any involvement in, and the fact that it did poorly didn't save them from bankruptcy.
  • Dueling Dubs: There are two French dubs of the 1970 series. The first, made in 1979, was titled Le petit prince orphelin (The Little Orphan Prince). It was faithful to the original Japanese to the point of retaining the original Japanese theme songs and keeping the main character's name as "Hutchi", but it was also incomplete, with only 39 episodes dubbed and aired out of order. This dub also had a North American broadcast, on the Tele-Metropole (TVA) network in Quebec. Later, Saban's '90s dub changed the main character's name to "Micky."
  • No Export for You: The 1970 and 1989 series were both dubbed into many languages and distributed across the world, but the 1974 series appears to have been only exported to Italy, possibly because it's so dark. Both French releases of the 1970 series were also incomplete: while Saban's dub had only 65 of the 91 episodes, that was still more than the first (1979) French dub, which had only 39.
  • Swan Song: The 2010 film was the last ever project by Group TAC before the studio's shut down.
