- Executive Meddling: Besides the Screwed by the Network instance of this, part of the reason the Marvel expansion characters ended up being so overpowered was at the request of Marvel themselves. It was a decision that proved unpopular with the original creators, who internally referred to the expansion as it's own separate spin-off of the game.
- Screwed by the Network: When Hasbro acquired Wizards of the Coast, they gave the game over to them to develop instead of doing it in house. Wizards however fully admitted to having zero interest in the franchise and largely just used repainted DnD minis they had in backlog for the game before quietly cancelling the line after just three sets.
- What Could Have Been: Plans for more crossover sets were being considered before the game was handed over to Wizards, with the setting itself being one that would allow for a Massively Multiplayer Crossover over the games lifespan.
