  • Actor Allusion: A very subtle one, if at all intentional, to Keiji Fujiwara in the form of Axel Hughes.
  • Alternative Foreign Theme Song: The Latin American Spanish dub was done in Colombia and instead of dubbing the Japanese opening they decided to create their own completely new theme song titled "Libres" and sung by singer Jona Camacho, and which was also used as the ending theme in the dub. For comparison, this is the original opening and this is the opening used in Latin America.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Mikako Komatsu makes her voice acting debut as Joey.
  • Development Hell: Despite all the hard work Stan Lee put into making the anime version accessible to Western audiences, infighting between Buena Vista Entertainment and Studio BONES have ensured an English dub won't be coming any time soon (well, not outside Malaysia anyhow). What's more with Stan Lee's death in 2018, it doesn't look like sequel or continuation will be forthcoming either.
  • No Dub for You: Despite this being one of the most American anime you could probably watch and it has even been dubbed in other languages, this curiously has not yet been officially released in English (although there are Fandubs of it, but still). If it were to be released... then it would be In Memoriam of the late Stan Lee.
  • Made its debut in Super Robot Wars with Super Robot Wars UX.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: A two-way battle between Buena Vista Entertainment (who produced the show) and Studio BONES has effectively ensured that the show won't be seeing an official release outside of Japan any time soon.
