- One issue has Kendra Saunders, who recently donned the Hawkgirl mantle, bump into Zauriel, who was originally intended to be introduced as the new Hawkman.
- Zauriel being part of the Eagle-Host of angels, sharing a bird motif as Hawkman, which might be a holdover from the original idea (see below).
- What Could Have Been:
- Tim Truman intended the Hawkworld mini-series to take place before Katar and Shayera's Silver Age tales. Thus, the Silver Age Hawkman and Hawkwoman would continue to make Post-Crisis appearances while also keeping the basic elements from Hawkworld.
- Some sources say Truman also wanted the Hawkworld monthly series to be modernized retellings of some of their Silver Age tales, akin to Batman: Dark Moon Rising.
- Zauriel was meant to be called "Hawkman". But at the time, the name was forbidden due to the character's Continuity Snarl.
- For the Justice League animated series, Hro Talak was originally gonna be Katar Hol. But the name was changed for fears that viewers would not accept Hawkman as a villain.
