Trivia / Harpy Gee

• Series Hiatus: During normal activity periods, the comic would take one-month hiatuses between chapters to allow for Brianne to edit the scripts and get ahead on the production of the issues as the web comic is very much a passion project to her day job as an animator which likewise tends to halt the series now and then if an animated project needs her attention. A much more pronounced hiatus took place at the end of Chapter 4, leading to the main story stopping for a year and a half between June of 2018 and October of 2019. In between a series of shorter side stories ran, the longest being Dough See Dough.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Brianne had tried to pitch Harpy Gee for a TV series. But no network was interested and she eventually just settled on making a webcomic of it. The initial design of the series.◊
    • A different attempt at making a series lead to an 11-minute pilot short from Nickelodeon. The show was again not picked up, though Brianne admitted that the process of producing it impacted development of the webcomic and led to the longer hiatus between Chapters 4 and 5. Nickelodeon passed and it appears from all reports it was for the better due to the direction of the network changing during the pilot's development which would've more then likely seen the series have a very short run if it was picked up. Brianne has reported that she was grateful the pilot was passed on so she could continue to develop the storyline in the comic version. She would later posted some of the animatics boards from it and a bit of info about it, including that it would have had Ash and Humphrey sing.
