  • The author Yuriko Nishiyama admits that she does not pair Mizuki with either Kosuke or Naruse in the series, because she thinks that romantic relationship within Scratch can potentially cause internal conflict that will jeopardize the team in long term.
  • The author claimed that she made a plan about Masahiro Sawamura being nurtured by a woman around 30 years old of age after his dad left him behind. But because of Unfortunate Implications, the author changed her mind and Sawamura ended up getting nurtured by a Yakuza-affiliated character named Soshi Fujita.
  • The author made a plan to write a Whole Episode Flashback that explained Shin's Freudian Excuse and his reason in joining J. But because Shin was so unlikable, the author decided to abort the said plan and give Shin Demoted to Extra treatment.
