- Creator Backlash: Zimmer hated his work on The Ring so much a soundtrack album was not released alongside the movie. It was later included with The Ring Two.
- He Also Did:
- He produced the song and single "The History of the World (Part 1)" by The Damned. He was credited for "overproducing" it in the original liner notes.
- Zimmer can also be seen performing the music (via synthesizer) in the music video for the Doctor Who charity single, "Doctor in Distress", in 1985.
- He also wrote the cheerfully cheesy theme tune for the 1980s quiz show Going for Gold.
- One of Zimmer's first professional works was as a studio musician for The Buggles, and he can be seen playing drums and keyboards in the music video for "Video Killed the Radio Star".
- Production Posse: Owns a large studio, Remote Control Productions, where he trains and collaborates with a lot of other young composers from around the world helping them with conducting, writing additional music, or even co-composing. His future plans appear to be retirement with the focus of training more composers.
- Zimmer himself is part of the Production Posses for various directors, such as James L. Brooks, Ron Howard, Christopher Nolan, Ridley Scott, Tony Scott and Gore Verbinski. He has also scored many films produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.
- Star-Making Role: His The Lion King (1994) score, with Lebo M's help with choral arrangements, shot him to John Williams levels of fame.
