Trivia / Groundling Marsh

Go To

  • Cross-Dressing Voices: Eco is performed by male puppeteer, James Rankin.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: The entire series can be seen on Tubi. The only exception is season 4's "Catch a Falling Star", which can't be found anywhere else. Other platforms like Amazon's Kartoon Channel don't even have season 4 for reasons unknown.
    • Good luck trying to find Lyrick Studios' compilation videos (Treasures Are for Sharing and Courageous Adventures), the former two of which contain new linking material. The series' run with the company didn't last very long, resulting in whatever copies that come to surface online having a princely sum. Even harder to find are the two holiday volumes: "It's a Wonderful Marsh" (the last tape released of the series) and the Canadian-exclusive volume "Merry Merry Marshland" (released the year prior as a test volume).
      • By far the hardest to find of the series is the "The Great Cave Adventure", an interactive movie which introduced Crystal and the Crystal Caves commissioned for the Edmonton Mall (and toured various other malls). No images of the film (other than the sets being constructed) exist, along with very little of the merchandising made for the series.
  • Screwed by the Network: The series wrapped production after reaching sixty-five episodes, just in time for a deal with Disney Channel (who co-produced the fourth and final season). Unfortunately, the deal was cut shorter than expected due to management change-ups, resulting in a restructuring of the network. Lyrick Studios picked up the series for a run on public television (via KERA-TV) and tried pushing it with new volumes featuring additional material, but this didn't seem to last particularly long.
  • The Other Darrin: Maggie was performed by Jani Lauzon in season 1 before being replaced by Wende Welch for the rest of the series up until mid-way through season 4. Canadian Muppeteer Trish Leeper took over the role from there.
    • Hegdish was initially performed by Canadian comedian Dan Redican in season 2. For the next season, he was replaced by Fred Stinson (who also performed Slinger) due to other commitments. The role ultimately went to John Pattison during the last season. Despite this, Redican continued to write songs for the series.
