  • Crowdfunder Cameo: A graphic novel adaptation that went on Kickstarter in 2023 included two tiers for cameo appearances in the book.
  • Defictionalization: At the time of the book's writing, there was no "Best of Queen" album containing "Another One Bites the Dust," "We Are the Champions," "I Want to Break Free," and "Fat-Bottomed Girls" in the same collection. Two years later, the band's US label, Hollywood Records, put out Greatest Hits, an aptly titled Greatest Hits Album (different from the identically named 1981 compilation) that featured all four of those songs.
  • Died During Production: Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett had some discussions about doing a sequel, which was likely scuttled by Pratchett's death in 2015. Though the Amazon Prime adaptation getting a second season with Gaiman’s support promises to give a hint to what it would have been like.
  • Hypothetical Casting: Back when The Movie was first proposed, according to Word of Pratchett, Terry Gilliam proposed casting Johnny Depp as Crowley and Robin Williams as Aziraphale. This being the early 90s, the studio didn't go for it, thinking Depp was too indie and obscure for the part.
  • Technology Marches On: When was the last time you saw an in-car entertainment system with a tape deck, or an answering machine that stored its messages on tape, for that matter? As for Cellnet, BT sold it off and it changed its name to O2 years ago. The 2014 radio adaptation does modernise some of the technology from the original book (one of the riders of the Apocalypse says he's Voicemail instead of Ansaphones, and Newt's technological ineptitude makes "smart phones become moronic") but lets Crowley keep his old magnetic-tape-based answering machine so he can trap Hastur in in the tape; he even says "thank goodness for old technology."
  • What Could Have Been: Phil Foglio drew the first two pages of an adaptation.
