Trivia / Girls' Frontline: Neural Cloud

Go To

  • Development Gag: Part of Nanaka's backstory involves her having to rely on a Body Backup Drive on the day of her debut as an Idol Singer, which had pink hair in stark contrast to Nanaka's black hair. This is likely a nod to the similarly-named Naka, a pink-haired idol who never made it past Neural Cloud's beta versions.
  • Late Export for You: Originally released in mainland China on September 23, 2021, the game was eventually released globally on November 21, 2022.
  • Throw It In!: Baalia, the Author Avatar of Neural Cloud's director Kamie and occasional enemy boss in-game, was a product of serendipity. Kamie explains that he just needed any Live2D avatar in order to appear on MICA Team's "Belian Island Bunker" development livestreams and entrusted the task to his design team. Without much in the way of guidance, they drew up the comically busty goat girl Kamiezi (her original name in Chinese), which he begrudgingly adopted as his official livestreaming avatar.
  • Urban Legend of Zelda:
    • Rumors about how Mica was trying to make the game Hotter and Sexier to compete with other gachas peaked when in January 2023, Live2D animations that showed Jiangyu mimicking a handjob and Florence touching herself were leaked on social networks, claming to be already implemented on Chinese servers. CN players quickly debunked the rumors after some digging that revealed that, while real, said animations were made by Mica employees in private and never intended to be added in-game.
    • After Dummied Out dialogue for a possible OATH system a la Girls' Frontline was datamined from the game, some players started speculating that it might've not been implemented as Chinese censorship was going full-on Heteronormative Crusader at the time, and likely would've cared less than nothing for the implied homosexual relationships between a Professor and Dolls of the same gender. Others were quick to point out that games like Arknights (another Chinese Gacha Game developed by ex-MICA Team members) also have an ambiguously gendered Player Character and a roster with both genders which hasn't yet run into any censorship problems (although they do not have an OATH-like system). Most other people went with the simpler theory of "it's not ready yet", as the datamined dialogue was limited only to text. Indeed, the system would be implemented by late 2023.
