Trivia / Gaming in the Clinton Years

Go To

  • Colbert Bump: Flights of Fantasy received three major ones in the Internet age.
  • Creator Backlash:
    • It's possible George or NAVIGTR feel this way about the Tomb Raider II review, given it's no longer on their YouTube channel; the review has him infamously challenging the game developers to give Lara Croft breast cancer.
    • Within Flights of Fantasy itself, the crew admitted they were embarrassed about stating that the Virtual Boy would win the new console war of 1995. On a Clip Show episode where they had a segment of mistakes/bloopers, they played the footage of them stating this with text saying "We want to die now" superimposed over it.
    • Both the show and NAVGTR might feel this way about the early comic book episodes. Not only did Flights of Fantasy mock old clips from that era later in the series' run, but NAVGTR didn't even reupload any of them, being almost entirely lost until other fans uploaded old recordings they still had.
  • Missing Episode: All of the show's episodes were wiped out from its YouTube channel in December 2019, however they were eventually reinstated. The sole exception is the infamous Tomb Raider II review (see above).
  • Real Song Theme Tune: The theme to Gaming In The Clinton Years is a song from the NES game Shadowgate (specifically, the hall of mirrors theme). It predates Clinton's presidency, although the depicted game (Battletoads in Battlemaniacs) does not.
  • Reclusive Artist: George Wood is so reclusive, that many people believed the lie spread by NAViGaTR stating he was dead for several years before it was finally proven false.
