Trivia / Galaxy High

  • Germans Love David Hasselhoff: A non-international example, but one of the show's writers, Larry DiTillo, noted that the show's highest ratings were in Dallas, which surprised him.
  • He Also Did:
  • Screwed by the Network: The show's time slot was switched around with more popular shows. such as Pee-wee's Playhouse and Muppet Babies (1984), leading to the show appearing in a later time slot (which meant it was frequently preempted by sporting events). The show failed to find a proper audience and was eventually canceled, though the show has since gained a cult following for its clever, ahead of its time writing and its very high animation quality.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The show originally started out as an Americanised adaptation of Urusei Yatsura, which was a show about an alien girl attending a human high school on Earth. The idea was changed into a reverse of that idea.
    • Originally the show centered around Doyle being the only human character; Amiee was going to be a blue human-like alien in early Concept Art (that was shown on VHS and DVD covers), which gives a greater reason why the shows theme song mostly focused on Doyle (with Amiee only getting a side mention), and why most of the show's episodes centered around Doyle.
    • The concept art shows that the show would have had a different art style, with other characters that were either not in the show or had different designs, with one example being Milo.
    • The never-made second season would have included an episode involving a food fight that split the school into two sides, escalating into a civil war within the school. There also would have been more exploration of a romance between Aimee and Doyle.
    • A Live-Action Adaptation of the show was planned in 1996 and auctioned to both DreamWorks SKG and Paramount, but it has not yet seen the light of day.
  • Working Title: High School 2525.
