• What Could Have Been: In early versions of the script, Nixon won the election because only one person in the entire world (presumably Nixon himself) actually bothered to vote. The producers realized this wasn't a strong enough joke to end the episode on, and so the bit with Nixon's giant robot body was introduced — albeit with Decided by One Vote still in effect, so that the "Every vote matters." Aesop was still delivered.
