- Word of God: Mauroz has stated
that while it is possible for a deceased character to come Back from the Dead, it has to be a recent death to work, is classified as "black magic", and would require a lot of sacrifice to even be possible. Any longer and the soul will enter the cycle of reincarnation again. It's for this reason that Winona is confirmed Killed Off for Real, as their death happened five years prior, and their soul has long since been reincarnated as someone else.
