Trivia / Friends S1 E1 "The Pilot"

• Blooper: In the broadcast version, after Phoebe says she accidentally pulled out some eyelashes and "that can't be good", there's a cut to Paul on the couch smirking at Phoebe's comment. The problem though is Phoebe can be seen sitting behind Paul in this shot, when previously she was in the kitchen. This suggests Paul's reaction came from a different point in the episode. The extended DVD version corrects this by eliminating Paul's reaction shot.
  • While all of the credit cards Rachel cuts up at the end of the episode are obvious fakes, pausing on the overhead shot when Monica puts the scissors on the table reveals one isn't even a (fake) credit card at all, but is in fact a New York Public Library card.
• Executive Meddling: The network strongly objected to Monica sleeping with Paul on their first date as they believed viewers would consider her a "slut" and unsympathetic. The producers polled the crew during rehearsals and found they didn't have a problem with Monica's storyline at all. They adjusted a few of Monica's lines to make it clear she really cared about Paul and the storyline was allowed to go ahead.
