Trivia / Fred and Barney Meet the Thing

• Keep Circulating the Tapes: Since most of the cartoons produced by Hanna-Barbera presently belong to Warner Bros. and the Thing is a character from Marvel Comics, which was acquired by Warner Bros.' competitor Disney as of 2009, don't expect a DVD release anytime soon.
• The Other Darrin: Although he previously did Fred's voice in the anthology series Fred Flintstone and Friends^note He also did Fred's singing voice in both The Man Called Flintstone and The New Alice in Wonderland (or "What's a Nice Kid Like You Doing in a Place Like This?")., this show, aside from the prime-time special The Flintstones' Little Big League, was Henry Corden's first regular appearance as Fred Flintstone after Alan Reed passed away.^note He would continue voicing Fred in both new productions, and in the Post Pebbles cereals commercials until he passed away in 2005. He is currently voiced by Jeff Bergman and occasionally James Arnold Taylor.
• Role Reprise: Besides the previously mentioned special, Mel Blanc (Barney, Dino), Jean Vander Pyl (Wilma, Pebbles), and Gay Hartwig (Betty) all returned in their respective roles seven years after appearing in The Flintstone Comedy Hour (essentially the second season of The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show).
