Trivia / 50 Ways to Die in Minecraft

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Most of the voices (with the exception of Fred in one death in the Halloween edition and a female sniper in part 6) were done by Jake Eyes himself.
  • Cross-Dressing Voices: While hard to notice at times, most of the female voices in the videos (with the exception of a female sniper in part 6) are provided by Jake Eyes himself.
  • The Other Darrin: None of Fred's original voice actors reprise the role for his appearance in the Halloween edition. He is instead voiced by Matt Barr.
  • Screwed by the Lawyers: Many episodes in the series have been taken down due to copyright claims (including the opening song, Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover). As of "500 Ways to Die in Minecraft", copyrighted audio will be pitched down by absurd levels.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • Jake Eyes subtitling the parts would've started with Part 14 instead of Part 15. The subtitle in question would have been "Strike of the Thunderbolt" in reference to the A-10 Thunderbolt.
    • Part 7's death 24 was instead "Overestimating Peaceful Mode", which had Stu fall off a mountain after setting the gamemode to Peaceful. This was because the death that would replace it, "Provoking A PS4 Whipping", had spurts of blood that were formerly censored by ESRB logos. Ever since the full version of the video came out, the latter replaced the former.
    • A small one, but Part 11's opening gag Homage Shot to Dragon Ball Z Abridged would've had Stu humming the background music, but was scrapped due to Jake's fear of getting a copyright strike.
    • Forgotten Fables is a entire dedication to this; Jake Eyes recalling several deaths and sequences that were planned for Fairy Tale edition, but were ultimately scrapped either for being too close to putting Jake on thin ice with YouTube guidelines, accidentally terrifying, accidentally depressing, or for limitation reasons. A notable one is an attempt at a Brick Joke, where the bridge troll comes across a very high caterpillar rambling about the name etymology about fairy tales and the fact at least 3 of them actually have fairies, which the King in death 49 would reference later.
