- Directed by Cast Member: The French dub was directed by Philippe Peythieu, who also voiced T. R. Chula.
- International Coproduction: The series was a co-production between Amblimation in Britain, Nelvana in Canada and Universal Cartoon Studios in the United States.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Fievel's American Tails had its episodes released on VHS and LaserDisc in the early-to-mid 1990's, but no DVD releases in America. To make matters worse, only twelve out of the 13 episodes were released in the US on VHS (eight on Laserdisc); PAL regions got every episode on VHS though, which is the only reason "Little Mouse on the Prairie" has surfaced on the internet in recent years with its original English dub. However, there have been DVD releases in Europe since An American Tail is popular enough there to warrant a release in Germany and Italy, and the remaining episodes can be found in its German and Italian dubs.
- The show was added to Universal's own streaming service, Peacock, in 2020, putting an end to this trope with all except the Reading is Fundamental PSA at the end of each episode, some of which are lost media.
- No Export for You: In an odd and ironic inversion of this trope, the DVD release of Fievel's American Tails is available in Europe, but not America.
- No Budget: "Fievel's American Tails" was criticized for its Off-Model character designs and stiff, often error-ridden animation; leading the show to being quickly canceled.
- The Other Darrin:
- Cat R. Waul is voiced by Gerrit Graham (who had previously worked with the producers David Kirschner on Child's Play 2 and Steven Spielberg on Used Cars), and Chula is voiced by Dan Castellaneta (and as a consequence sounds like Krusty the Clown).
- Nehemiah Persoff is replaced with Lloyd Battista as the voice of Poppa, and Erica Yohn is replaced with Susan Silo as the voice of Momma.
- Miss Kitty is voiced by Cynthia Ferrer instead of Amy Irving.
- Recycled: The Series: A clear example, with many of the typical side effects (Flanderization, missing characters, worse animation and production values, etc).
