• Creator Backlash: Long before she joined the Black Eyed Peas, Fergie was part of an all-female group called Wild Orchid, which formed in 1990 and had some modest success with the hit single "Talk To Me" in 1997. Due to a change in the group's sound, faltering sales, and a bad breakup, Fergie went into a spiral of drug use and depression that eventually ended when her bandmates staged an intervention and then ended with her leaving the group. She has only come out to talk about this once, in a 2006 Entertainment Weekly interview, explaining that it was a very bad time for her, professionally and personally.
