- Outdated by Canon: Cinder Fall has two loving parents whom she deeply cares about. The RWBY episode "Midnight", which aired a year after this fic ended, revealed Cinder was an orphan who was tortured by her abusive stepmother and stepsisters.
- What Could Have Been:
- Weiss was considered for Caster. Ruby was considered for Archer or Lancer. Yang was considered for Rider. Mercury was considered for Berserker. Cinder was considered for Assassin. Neo was considered for Berserker or Saber.
- Since there are loads of characters, the author can't include them all without getting overwhelmed. For example, after introducing Medusa, the author considered introducing her sisters Euryale and Stheno before changing their mind. Chloe von Einzbern was included but not Miyu Edelfelt. Miyu does appear in the sequel Lost to Dust.
- The author considered making Enkidu a straight up woman, before deciding it would be more fun to keep Enkidu Ambiguous Gender.
- The author considered putting Spartacus in the story, but decided he didn't fit.
- Kirei and Bazett were originally going to find a lot more humanoid Grimm than just Serenity.
