Trivia / Fantasy Blitzkrieg

Go To

     The original series
  • Artist Disillusionment/ Creator Backlash: If this post on Space Battles is any indication, then it means that Lt Colonel Summers have come to hate what a jumbled mess that Fantasy Blitzkrieg series has become, to the point that he considered it an Old Shame and quit writing fanfiction altogether.
    • Outright confirmed to be the case when Lt Colonel Summers posted a review on Operation Alexandria, where he said that he has come to hate Fantasy Blitzkrieg "for the clusterfuck that it has become, and would like to see it getting torched". He even praised Omega E (author of Operation Alexandria) for tearing the FBverse a new one!
  • What Could Have Been: With the series simply discontinued halfway into Mission Three, one wonders how would the series have eventually turned out, considering that there was going to be a Mission Four and Mission Five as well. Summers would later post a "Behind The Scenes" document detailing the elements that went unused because of the cancellation of the series. Some of those unused elements were implemented into Operation Alexandria, such as the reveal that Yumemi was an STI mole all along, albeit with some changes made.

     Operation Alexandria
  • Approval of God
    • To show just how much contempt Lt Colonel Summers has for the original series, he praised the spin-off for using overpowered OCs to tear apart the FBverse in both the figurative and literal way.
    • Omega E himself praised the move of giving Operation Alexandria a trope page on This Very Wiki.
  • Creator Backlash: Not to Operation Alexandria itself. But Lt Col Summers was legitimately angered by the situation mentioned in Troubled Production below, with even Omega E himself admitting that he was ashamed of it along with many other "mishaps" that occurred behind the scenes.
  • Distanced from Current Events: Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Omega E posted a disclaimer in chapter 39 stating that Masud's "Plague" spell cards are referencing the Ten Plagues of Egypt, and it has nothing to do with the aforementioned pandemic.
  • Exiled from Continuity: Koka Henko and Goukei from Mission Three weren't even mentioned in Operation Alexandria due to them being not Lt Colonel Summers' OCs, but ones that he borrowed from other people from the now-defunct Let's Danmaku forum on Fanfiction Dot Net.
    • Karin Muyoka from Boundless World of Danmaku did make an appearance for two chapters, but mysteriously disappears from the plot in Chapter 11 due to Omega E The Reader realizing that he did not have permission from Terry N Muse (author of Boundless) to use her (Summers did for the original series).
  • Troubled Production: Apparently, the writing of Operation Alexandria wasn't completely smooth sailing. According to the "Behind The Scenes" document, Lt Col Summers and Omega E the Reader once had a disagreement over having the STI nanomachines in FBverse!Yumemi's body be removed via a previously unmentioned Ass Pull and Deus ex Machina by Phantasmverse!Yumemi , and it was so severe that the former threatened to withdraw support for the series. The situation was only salvaged when the latter realized that it is indeed a bad idea and agreed to a compromise.
  • What Could Have Been: According to the "Behind The Scenes" document, Yumemi was originally going to be a witting mole who has been loyal to the STI all along (as was Summers' original intent for the Wham Shot of the main series' Mission Three that never came to be). But because Omega E was too uncomfortable with the latter (original) reveal to go through with it, Summers offered a compromise and agreed to let Omega E change Yumemi into an unwitting mole who is held at metaphorical gunpoint by LT.
