  • The producers originally wanted Angela Lansbury to make a cameo as the narrator of Peter's book, but she declined due to the nature of the episode's plot, resulting in them recasting the role to Betty White. Seth MacFarlane joked in the DVD commentary "She would appear in a film called Bedknobs and Broomsticks, but thinks that this episode is too pornographic!"
  • According to The Futon Critic, the episode's subplot was originally going to be about Chris becoming a genius and competing with Stewie to take over the world.
