  • Write What You Know: As per Jadran Gonzalez, "Immortality Made Flesh" was heavily based around Catholic imagery and more specifically the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; as a Mexican-American growing up in California, he had a fairly religious upbringing, and while he had been secular for a while when he wrote it, it lent itself well to the imagery he wanted to convey.
