- All-Star Cast: Woody Allen, Julia Roberts, Alan Alda, Natalie Portman, Goldie Hawn, Edward Norton, Drew Barrymore and Tim Roth. As well as then-unknown actors Billy Crudup and Natasha Lyonne.
- Box Office Bomb: Budget: $20 million. Box office: $9.8 million.
- The Cast Showoff: Inverted. Goldie Hawn is an accomplished singer, so Woody Allen asked her to scale it back so she could match the other untrained singers. Edward Norton also had to scale back his singing.
- Creator Backlash:
- Natalie Portman considers this to be her worst performance, as she wasn't allowed to improvise.
- Drew Barrymore later regretted working with Woody Allen in the wake of renewed controversy surrounding child molestation accusations made against him.
- Deleted Role: Kim Rossi Stewart, Liv Tyler and Tracey Ullman filmed scenes for this film, but all were cut to reduce running time.
- Non-Singing Voice: Drew Barrymore flat out refused to sing, which is why she's the only member of the cast who's dubbed. If you listen to her singing role in Music and Lyrics years later, one wonders why.
- What Could Have Been: Diane Keaton was considered for Steffi.
