• In Memoriam: The film is dedicated to Troy Kennedy Martin, writer of the original miniseries, who died in 2009.
• What Could Have Been:
  • Robert De Niro was originally slated to play the role of Jedburgh, but he left the first week of shooting, citing "creative differences."
  • Kate Winslet was considered for the part of Emma Craven (ironically, at one point, Leonardo DiCaprio was considered for Thomas Craven).
  • John Corigliano wrote a score for the movie, but when the filmmakers decided to make it more of an action movie, Howard Shore was brought in to replace him.
