- Banned in China: The Dictator was removed from the French, German, and Hebrew versions of the film for obvious reasons and strict laws in Germany about references to the Nazi regime and to avoid insulting Israelis and Holocaust survivors after World War II. All swastikas are also removed from Funimation's DVD. Additionally, all "third reich" references are removed. Even, the entire scenes with the dictator were removed in Toonami and Nicktoons USA airings of the film for the reason above.
- Dueling Dubs:
- Speedy Video included an English dub on their Malaysian VCD around 1999 under the title "Rival Fusion."
- Funimation released their dub on DVD in 2006 with a score by Nathan Johnson with Dave Moran. It was reissued in 2009 to DVD and Blu-ray with the original Japanese music.
- The Other Darrin:
- The Mushroom Announcer was voiced by Ryūsei Nakao instead of Hirotaka Suzuoki who played him in the Ano'yoichi Budokai arc. Shen Long is also voiced by Tesshō Genda for the only time here instead of his current-at-the-time performer Shin Aomori.
- Mark Britten had long since left Funimation by the time of this movie's English production, so his roles were recast. Grand Kai was instead voiced by audio engineer Evan O'Connor Jones and the Mushroom Announcer was filled in by Christopher Sabat.
- What Could Have Been: Early screenshots show Janemba was originally purple with white armor and red eyes.
