  • Dueling Dubs:
    • Speedy Video produced an English dub for their Malaysian VCD release around 1999 under the title "The Burning Battle."
    • AB Groupe released an English dub for the European market in 2002 under the title "The Burning Battles" featuring English-speaking voice actors in France.
    • Funimation released their dub to VHS and DVD in 2003, featuring their in-house voice cast in Dallas, and a new musical score by Mark Menza, along with numerous licensed tracks from artists such as Tendril, Brave Cambo, Haji's Kitchen, and most famously, Pantera. It was reissued in 2009 to DVD and Blu-ray with the original Japanese soundtrack.
  • Playing Against Type: In the English Dub, Broly's voice is provided by Vic Mignogna.
  • The Other Darrin: A surprising one from the beloved Latin American Spanish dub, but Goku, Gohan, Trunks, and Piccolo's voice actors were replaced for this movie (mirroring a similar situation years later for the Latin American Spanish dub of Dragon Ball Z Kai).note  Luckily, Vegeta's voice actor René García remained here, considering Vegeta's almost-protagonic role.note
  • What Could Have Been: Some ideas for Broly's concept were dropped. In one draft, he was supposed to have a Might Makes Right personality, interested only in strength to contrast Goku and Vegeta, who fight for something or someone. At some point, Broly should even have wondered who he really was, but this line was cut from the movie, which possibly explains how vague the movie ended up being. Broly's original concept ended going with Jiren from Dragon Ball Super.
"Like the title tells us, Broly is the strongest warrior. But if he's the strongest, he can't lose? But the only thing that Broly had is power, while Goku and Vegeta had a family and can die for them. I wanted to manage his loneliness and show that power is not enough to surpass love, friends and connections. Broly almost hurt me. It's a dark character in the DB universe and I should have fought to impose my conceptions of this character. At the beginning I wanted him to say at the end "Who am I exactly?" but they cut this sentence. If I could, I should have made him way more interesting."
