- Acting for Two: Michael Donovan and Scott McNeil voiced the Lee Brothers, as well as the villains Jawbreaker and Sickle respectively. Some of the other characters also shared voice actors.
- Out of Order: The Season 2 episodes were aired without regard to their actual continuity. Particularly notable with "RPM", the final episode aired, which clearly took place before Jawbreaker's Heel–Face Turn in "The Sight of Freedom". "Daj of the Undertown Dragons" was the last episode made in production order. The Blu-Ray set from Discotek Media opts to fix this issue by placing the first season in broadcast order and the second season in production ordernote using the best known viewing orders that exist.
- Recursive Adaptation: Double Dragon V: The Shadow Falls is a video game based on the animated series based on the video game series.
- What Could Have Been: Plans for the animated adaptation date back to the late 1980's, when the original plan for The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! was to have the series be an hour-long, and a different video game-based cartoon would air alongside the Super Mario segments each weekday. The original concept art is also far more faithful to the games than the final product (which in turn means it resembles Fist of the North Star far more than the final product).
