Trivia / Don't Turn the Other Cheek!

Go To

  • Completely Different Title: The Italian title translates to, "Long live death... yours!". Eli Wallach came up with Don't Turn The Other Cheek! because he deduced that titles with the word "death" in them didn't do too well at the box office.
  • Dawson Casting: Max Lozoya is 45 years old. Eli Wallach was 55 when he played him.
  • Missing Episode: Some of the scenes in the full version were never dubbed over in the English version.
    • Lozoya declares that "the redhead" is his and tries to grope her while riding.
    • Lozoya, Orlowsky and Mary stop at San Tomas, where Lozoya and Orlowsky are ambushed by some of Randall and Huerta's men. They dispatch them in their own ways and they and Mary escape on a stolen motorcycle.
    • After Orlowsky and Lozoya kill Mendoza, they are confronted by some of Huerta's soldiers, but the peasants, thinking Lozoya saved them from Mendoza, arrive to show their support. After the soldiers leave, Lozoya is forced to give an encouraging speech to the peasants in his "El Salvador" persona, and he and Orlowsky are followed by the town bachelors to the jail. While there, Mary tries to have Lozoya arrested, but they trick her into being locked into the jail instead. The scene explains how Lozoya got to have a medal: Mary gave it to him.
  • Fake Nationality: Polish-American Eli Wallach playing a Mexican for the fourth time, Italian Franco Nero as Russian Dmitri Orlowsky, and British Lynn Redgrave as Irish Mary O'Donnell.
