• Reality Subtext: Shinji's character arc draws a great deal of inspiration from the author's own battle with depression and suicidal ideation.
• Schedule Slip: Mostly due to the author's personal life getting in the way.
• Troubled Production: Chapter 5. Numerous parts of this chapter on the Sufficient Velocity thread were not threadmarked, leading to a lot of confused readers. It was significant enough that one user went through the thread searching for every post by the author starting from part 1 of chapter 5, copied what they believed were the other parts, compiled them into one post and reposted the text in order to be helpful. it worked apparently as that post was threadmarked by the author as The rest of Chapter 5 (don't ask).
