• Actor Allusion: Tyler asks Tank where he's been, and Tank says he was in Colorado.
• The Cast Show Off: G. Hannelius is well known for being in gymnastics and got to show this off in one episode where she contorts her body during Chloe's birthday party. She can also juggle.
• Defictionalization: Stan's blogs were added to Disney Channels's website to help promote the show.
• Dyeing for Your Art: Both dogs that played Stan (Kuma and Mick) were natural blondes, but their fur was dyed white with brown spots for the role.
  • Also, G. Hannelius is a natural brunette, but dyed her hair blonde for the show.
• Irony as She Is Cast: The Jennings-James Family celebrates Christmas; Blake Michael, who portrays Tyler, is Jewish in real life.
• Keep Circulating the Tapes: This series is not anywhere on Disney+, and there aren’t any DVDs around with episodes of this show.
  • Averted as of February 26th, 2021 when the show was added to the service without announcement.
• The Other Darrin: Stan was originally played by dog actor Kuma. However, Kuma’s owner, Sarah Clifford, worried the filming schedule would become stressful for him due to his old age. Mick would be brought in and quickly trained to replace Kuma, and would take over as Stan for the rest of the series.
