Trivia / Doctor Who S34 E9 "Flatline"

• Ascended Fanon: After much speculation by fans and conflicting claims during previous eras, the Doctor explicitly states that the TARDIS can adjust the effective mass of its materialised casing, and that it doesn't weigh the same as all of its internal contents (agreeing with fan arguments that if it did it would crack the crust of the planet).
• Completely Different Title: The French title is "À plat" (Flat).
• What Could Have Been: The story was supposed to be from the perspective of Rigsy. He was helping out his struggling community and a gang of homeless teenagers, eventually encountering the Doctor and Clara already on the case of the Boneless. They were originally supposed to be just displaced from their own world. Rigsy would end up defeating them by tricking the creatures into activating a “recall protocol”, dragging them back to their world. When the story was ordered to be a Doctor-lite episode, the teenagers and other elements were dropped.
