Trivia / Digimon Card Game

Go To

  • Author's Saving Throw: The western release of Rising Wind was initially announced as featuring only the new cards, with all the reprints found in the Japanese version being released later between other products. After complaints by players, Bandai changed their mind and postponed the release of the set to include back most of the reprints from the Japanese version, with the only exceptions being a few promos whose new distribution was already decided (the so-called "Security Rookies" - a set of six Level 3 Digimon with security effects - and a rerelease of the "Color Memory Boost!" Options with new art), with different reprints taking their place in the set.
  • Bad Export for You: The Draconic Roar expansion was rife with errors in the English release that required referencing online notes to play properly. While every set has had a few cards with issues, this set had twenty-four, quite a bit higher than anticipated.
  • Remade for the Export: When the game came in the west, the first three booster sets were shuffled around in two bigger sets, called Release Special Booster 1.0 and Release Special Booster 1.5, allowing western players to get on track earlier as well as creating its own 1.0 metagame between sets to allow some unique builds before 1.5 added in the remainder of the cards.
    • A similar thing is happening for BT-18 through BT-20, this time in an attempt to catch the west up with eastern releases to create a worldwide release of their product. Similarly called Release Special Booster 2.0 and Release Special Booster 2.5 this also will create a 2.0 metagame before the game finally catches up.
