Trivia / Dick & Dom in da Bungalow

Go To

  • Acting for Two: Dave Chapman and Ian Kirkby played tens of characters each. Melvin O'Doom slightly fewer, but danced a lot. Even Dick and Dom had several each, like Toni and Tony or Tom Dickunharry.
  • Channel Hop: 3 months before the show ended, Saturday episodes moved to BBC Two.
  • Corpsing: Considering that most of the show is unscripted and random, everyone is prone to this. Especially Dick, who often goes red he's laughing so much and sometimes even literally rolling on the floor laughing. The production crew even get in on the action; often, when things get particularly funny, the camera operators can be heard losing it in the background!
  • Enforced Method Acting: As well as the whole thing being unscripted, the producers liked to surprise the hosts from time to time.
  • Keep Circulating the Tapes: Da Dairies Of Dick And Dom uses less than ten hours of footage, from several hundred that aired, and the DVD only covers highlights of season 3. Fortunately, an active effort to locate and archive the entirety of the series is ongoing; to date, around half of the show's run has been uploaded to YouTube.
  • The Merch: A DVD of highlights of series 3, two comedy annual books, joke book, colouring book, sleepover planner, board game, CD of music from the show.
  • Never Work with Children or Animals: Unless you don't mind having your legs nearly pulled off (Don't Go Daddy), being biffed with inflatable hammers, facing general disrespect and mayhem, or having dogs peeing on your sets.
