- What Could Have Been:
- As mentioned on the main page, Divine was originally planned to star in the film, playing the role of Mole McHenry. When Divine turned the role down due to being under contract with a play he was in, the role went to fellow Dreamlander Susan Lowe.
- David Lochary was also intended to be in the film, but had to be re-cast due to his PCP addiction at the time. Lochary would die months after the movie was released.
- Write What You Know: The scene involving Muffy's babysitter throwing a party was based on something Waters did when he was in high school.
