Trivia / Dementium: The Ward

Go To

  • Development Hell: The remastered version of the second game as well as the third entry, which requires sales of the remastered games to be high enough.
  • Disowned Adaptation: Jools Watsham of Renegade Kid has stated that he isn't a fan of the second game's HD release.
  • Let's Play: There was one done by, of all people, Jools Watsham, one of the game's developers (mentioned above). It was done mostly to promote Dementium Remastered, and it stopped abruptly at episode 2, but it's still worth a watch if you're a fan of the series.
  • What Could Have Been: A lot of things were cut from both games. There was a mummy like enemy that was cut halfway through the first game for being "Not scary enough," as well as an entire boss encounter having to be shafted due to technical restraints. The aforementioned cult notes above, existed in the DS version of the second game, but were left out due to an entire subplot involving them being cut. A boss, known as the Priapic, as well as a hellish version of the armed guards. Word of God stated that whatever technical problems didn't hold back, Executive Meddling sure as hell did.
    • Also, the PC version of the second game shafted the survival mode because of instability, due to the publishers deciding it would be cheaper to drop it, rather than fix it, though it can still be played if you opt into the Steam Beta build of Dementium 2.
    • When the first game was being developed, and Renegade Kid was still looking for a publisher, they at one point pitched the game to Konami as a potential Silent Hill game, but they turned it down as they didn't want a studio that had just been formed working on the franchise.
