• Deleted Scene: An alternate ending where Spike announces she isn't pregnant is said to exist. This was shot as a fallback because both the producers and broadcasters were nervous about the reaction to the episode, but ultimately they kept the original ending. This has been corroborated by Kathryn Ellis' book Degrassi Generations, Linda Schuyler's 2022 memoir The Mother Of All Degrassi, and Amanda Stepto herself. As of yet, the footage isn't publicly available and it is unknown if it even still exists.
• Meaningful Name: Emma, Spike's daughter who later becomes the central character of Degrassi: The Next Generation, was named after the Emmy that this episode won.
• Sampled Up: In 2012, Canadian vaporwave artist Blank Banshee sampled Spike saying "I'm just a kid. It was just a little mistake." for the song "Teen Pregnancy". Because of Degrassi Junior High's continued obscurity, and an evident lack of interest from fans in finding the origin of the sample, the song is by far more well-known than the television series it was sampled from.
• What Could Have Been: It was reported in contemporary newspapers that Stephanie Kaye was intended to be given the pregnancy storyline, but they decided against it because of her promiscuous nature. Planning documents found by Degrassi superfan Jocelyn Claybourne in April 2023 contain a lengthy and detailed synopsis of "It's Late" in which it's Joey getting Stephanie pregnant.
