Instead of ending with them pushing through the pro-life picketers and ascending the steps of the clinic, the PBS version ends with them looking on before doing so. This angered director Kit Hood, who condemned them for giving it a "happy, safe, but incomplete" American-style ending, and in protest, had his name taken off the PBS version's credits.
