• Creative Differences: While an official reason has not been given for Chase Fraser's departure, it's likely that it had something to do with the "this guy needs to go before I kill him" version of the trope, as Bill hated him and had wanted him out for some time (the fact that he apparently also decided to get drunk and jacked off onto his bandmates' belongings definitely didn't engender popularity with the rest of the band, however).
• Promoted Fanboy: Derek and Bill have both served as this with Suffocation.
• Saved from Development Hell: Axis Mundi was recorded over six years after the release of Polarity and then sat on Nuclear Blast's desk for months before finally getting a release date.
• Screwed by the Lawyers: According to Bill, you can thank Unique Leader for being stingy about reissuing the first two albums; he never went into detail, but the band, and to a lesser extent Nuclear Blast, have been trying to get reprints out, to no avail.
