Trivia / Dead Rising 2

Go To

  • Colbert Bump: Celldweller and Blue Stahli got a boost in popularity thanks to these games.
  • Fake American: The overwhelming majority of the cast are Canadians playing Americans, in stark contrast to the first Dead Rising having an Ameican-based cast. The few exceptions would be TK (played by Bermuda-born Daren A. Herbert who studied in America), Sullivan's voice actor who's Canadian-American, and the American TJ Rotolo reprising his role as Frank West.
  • No Port For You: While the main game was ported to Playstation and PC, the prologue and epilogue side-games, Case Zero and Case West, were not, though they can be played via backwards compatibility on later generation Xboxes.
  • What Could Have Been:
    • The art book for Dead Rising 2 and some early previews show that the game would've taken place in one large, Western-themed casino with a steamboat in the side (source)(or perhaps that was one of the several casino/hotels, along with a different, Luxor-like Yucatan, seen in some pictures provided), that Fortune City would be an actual city with a large entertainment-like area similar to the final game's Fortune City and near a Phenotrans (then called Biotrans) facility (source) , overall more ambitious and large scale concepts for the area and casinos (source) (source) (source), and a different design for the entrance to the bar in the Yucatan.
    • Early plans would have had it be mentioned that Frank West ended up succumbing to his Zombie infection after the first game.
    • There is also an image of a zombified Katey that was left unused, probably to avoid upsetting the Moral Guardians.
    • A Director's Cut re-release of the game was stipulated in the contract that Blue Castle Games signed with Capcom. However, due to Chuck Greene mixed reception at launch, the Director's Cut was transformed into Dead Rising 2: Off the Record with a returning Frank West as the protagonist.
