• Follow the Leader: Dark Seal series is likely inspired by other arcade games with RPG elements, such as Wonder Boy in Monster Land (1987) and Cadash (1989). Dark Seal also had its own followers like Gaiapolis (1993) and Dungeon Magic (1994), whose gameplay differs substantially but shares the top-down viewpoint.
