• Directed by Cast Member: Fess Parker, who plays the titular Daniel Boone, directed five episodes: the season 4 episode "Then Who Will They Hang from the Yardarm If Willie Gets Away?", the season 5 episodes "The Plague That Came to Ford's Run" and "The Patriot", and the season 6 episodes "Hannah Comes Home" and "An Angel Cried".
• Hostility on the Set: At the end of the second season, Veronica Cartwright (Jemima Boone) and Patricia Blair (Rebecca Boone, Jemima's mother) got in a fight over a proposed story idea involving Jemima getting a love interest. Said fight was so bad that Cartwright ended up leaving the show because of it.
• Screwed by the Network: The show was a victim of The Rural Purge.
• What Could Have Been: Originally, Fess Parker wanted to do a whole series based on Davy Crockett (the original Crockett series was just a five-part miniseries), but Disney wouldn't give away the rights, so they made the show about Daniel Boone instead.
