• Screwed by the Network: They probably would have blown up a lot earlier in North America had Artery bothered to do anything with the band. Artery blocked Crystal Lake from touring the states and sat on them making sure no one else could sign them.
  • Network to the Rescue: SharpTone came in at just the right time and helped put Crystal Lake on the international stage and become one of their flagship bands.
• Sleeper Hit: No one expected "Apollo" to blow up like it did. It dropped late 2017 and somehow found itself on every metalcore and J-rock playlist and got over a whopping 3 million views on YouTube (and counting). Apollo blowing up plus several strong European tours put them on SharpTone’s radar and solidified them as one as the hottest bands of the late 2010s.
• Troubled Production: The third version of the True North festival got hit by this due to Typhoon Hagibis hitting Japan the same weekend as the festival. Adept from Sweden had to cancel their appearance and Crystal Lake had to scramble to get a new venue and lineup in a short amount of time. Thankfully, they managed to get together a show, albeit at a smaller venue and with a smaller lineup. The 2020 version of the festival has been quietly cancelled due to the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic.
