Trivia / COUNTER:SIDE

  • All-Star Cast: The Korean version is well loved due to so much of the voice cast being well-known actors who are considered perfect for their characters. The Japanese version has also been praised for bring in high-value voice actors like Takehito Koyasu, Aoi Yūki, Saori Hayami, and Ayako Kawasumi.
  • Colbert Bump:
    • The JP version received an increase in their preregistrations after hololive's Usada Pekora was given an early look at the game and showed up during its release stream. It also received an increased interest when Fubuki had done some sponsored streams.
    • The Global version had similar results from sponsored streams from both Nijisanji English branch and VShojo.
  • No Export for You: The Global server was one week away from getting a collab event with Guilty Gear (with Jack-O debuting as an Awakened unit in all servers) before it was suddenly announced to be "postponed indefinitely" (with Quartz given as an apology). It's presumably related to Guilty Gear -STRIVE- removing all references to Uyghur, Tibet, and Taiwan in its backstory from all versions of the game to appease Chinese censorship laws, indirectly affecting its presence in this game's servers.
  • Orphaned Reference:
    • Units have an "Implanted" line that was related to manually boosting their stats through the Lab; an update changed this mechanic to have stats tied to the unit's level instead, with the "Implanted" lines relegated to the unit's Dialogue page.
    • Units also have a "Negotiation Failure" line that was related to Salary Management having a chance to fail; an update changed this mechanic to never result in a Failure, with the "Negotiation Failure" lines relegated to the unit's Dialogue page.
    • Operators have lines related to actions in the Battlefield and Dive modes, such as being deployed, restocking ammo, running out of ammo, or retreating from the field. The Battlefield mode was scrapped in the New Origin update and Dive was overhauled, so all of these lines went unused except in the Dialogue page.
  • Real-Life Relative: Siblings Maaya and Yūma Uchida voice Yuna Springfield and Rayleigh (Yuna's phoenix in her Awakened form), respectively.
  • Why the Fandom Can't Have Nice Things: While unconfirmed, not many people are surprised that the ability to comment on the characters were removed. While some lament the convenience of other players' analysis of characters either to skip on that character's banner or to optimize their skills and loadout, many cite bad experiences with the comments ranging from general natter that didn't contribute to any discussion, ogling the character designs with zero context beyond that, racism towards the characters, and racism towards the players because of language issues.
