- Cash-Cow Franchise: The series has sold over 20 million copies over the course of 13 games.
- Cowboy BeBop at His Computer: Prior to its release, many gaming outlets referred to Cooking Mama: Cookstar as Cooking Mama: Coming Home to Mama.
- Executive Meddling: Cooking Mama: Cookstar had a particularly messy dispute regarding its release and subsequent disappearance from the Nintendo eShop. According to Office Create, the developers released the game against their approval, citing an unsatisfactory product and subsequent termination of partnership for going against their wishes. There was also plans for an unauthorized PlayStation 4 version, which eventually came out on March 25 of 2021.
- Feelies: Babysitting Mama includes a baby plush doll that you stick your Wii Remote inside to act as a peripheral.
- Follow the Leader: Activision tried to cash in on Mama's success with their very blatantly-inspired Science Papa. In an interview with Kotaku, Majesco actually had Mama herself comment in-character about the similarities between the games, claiming that Science Papa is her ex, and not as good a partner as the actual Papa from the games.
- Invisible Advertising: Before being taken down, Cookstar was released with no advertising aside from the initial announcement months prior. Allegedly, the developers had an online ad campaign prepared but Office Create put it on hold due to the game not being as polished as expected. Over a year later, when the game was properly released on physical and digital stores fronts, it didn't receive any noteworthy marketing to speak of.
- Keep Circulating the Tapes: Cooking Mama: Cookstar was pulled from the Nintendo eShop mere hours after being launched for then-unknown reasons, so for over a year only the few that downloaded the game in time or have the rare physical version could play it before it became available for purchase again. It was later revealed that the game was pulled because it was released against Office Create’s will.
- Pop-Culture Urban Legends: That Cookstar was taken down from storefronts because it is an unlicensed game meant to illegally mine bitcoins using your Switch or PS4. This is derived from rumors and speculations concerning the game's use of blockchain-based DRM, as well as a number of Switches allegedly overheating while playing the game and a prerelease article that mentioned cryptocurrency mining as a buzzword, as Planet Entertainment, the developer, dabbles in blockchain. In reality, it was taken down due to a legal dispute between the developers and Office Create; the blockchain-based DRM was removed from the game before release, and the overheating was chalked up to the removal not being done properly.
