• Distanced from Current Events: There's a scene where Amanda grinds the zeppelin between buildings that look like the World Trade Center. As the pilot was created in 2001, this likely didn't help its chances of being picked up.
• Screwed by the Network: Constant Payne wasn't picked up by Nickelodeon for two major reasons. The lack of interest in producing an action series at the time, especially in the aftermath of 9/11, is the first, but it was eclipsed by creator Micah Wright trying to unionize the writers at the studio. It should be noted that the studio was already in the midst of unionizing; the issue was that the studio was finalizing an agreement with The Animation Guild, and he was trying to get the writers at the studio to align with the Writer's Guild instead, complicating the whole affair and angering executives.
• What Could Have Been: As noted in the main page, Constant Payne would have been Nick's first action-adventure series had it been picked up.
