• Distanced from Current Events: As part of the game's Conspiracy Kitchen Sink setting, the Conspiracy X 2.0 core-rulebook addresses this with regards to then-recent tragedies, particularly terrorist attacks which have (in real life) spawned innumerable conspiracy theories. The events surrounding the Oklahoma City bombing, the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and 9/11 are specifically discussed, and while ideas for incorporating them into the world of Conspiracy X are presented, the book also acknowledges that gamemasters may feel uncomfortable using these tragedies as fodder for entertainment, and that it is perfectly okay for such a GM to simply treat those attacks as being purely mundane, involving no alien or paranormal conspiracies of any kind.
