Trivia / Community S2 E06: Epidemiology

• Creator Backlash: Yvette Nicole Brown did not approve of Shirley sleeping with Chang in this episode, as she felt that it was distinctly out-of-character for her to do.
• Cultural Translation: In the German dub, Chang announces he's dressed as Kati Witt, a famous East German ice skater. After his line about being the Racist Prover, he adopts a generic faux-eastern German accent.
• What Could Have Been: Originally, Troy, Abed and Jeff were going to be led out of the basement by some guy (referred to as a "Yoda-type character" in the commentary) who had been dwelling down there, instead of Jeff and Abed being infected and Troy escaping with his life. The Season 5 finale would reference and/or salvage what was left of that plot line in the form of Borchert, albeit having him live underground in the school, rather than the basement.
